How to apply to become a Mew
So you want to be a member of the Aphrodite’s Mews?
We will be looking for models and artists who have had prior experience or someone that shows amazing potential and would like to try out. Do you have what it takes in this fun, crazy and creative field? We will be focusing on mentoring, body positivity, different styles of photography, learning all aspects of the business and teamwork. You need to be an active participant, agree to follow the rules and sign all the codes of conduct. No exceptions!
We are also looking for any male or female who wants to join the team. Makeup artists, Special FX artists, other photographers (who would be working under Heidi) people who love social media marketing, assistants, lighting techs, seamstresses in wardrobe, artists who make headdresses, jewelry, fabricating props, etc.
With new members, we are going to take our time selecting a good fit for our group. It's important we all are a solid team. I will do my best to have weekly shoots open for new members to try out and showcase their skills. As much as I want us to learn from each other, this is not a modeling school. You must have something to offer and be able to follow our mews code of conduct. Please don't be disappointed, if we don't select you at this time. Each member must be agreed upon by all staff members. One reason for denying an applicant is that we might feel you are not ready yet, but with a little work, could be soon!
How to apply?
The first step is to message Heidi Laws (me) your working portfolio if you have one, or send your best images via PM. Let me know what kind of modeling you have done and are interested in doing.
The next step will be to contact our interviewer... Katie Camberg.... and set up your interview. You can choose either chose to have a skype or set up a time to meet with her face to face. If she give us the green light, it's time to try out.
Next we set up a time for you to showcase your skills. You will need to come up with a shoot concept (that can be shot in studio) or chosen from my random model calls. For models you will need to provide your own wardrobe and props, do your own hair and make up as well. For hair and make-up, FX artist, ect, you will need to show off your skills in a shoot of your choice as well. Feel free to bring your own model, be your own model or contact one of the Mews to model for your shoot. Now for your test shoot, there will be a mentor model present or another member of the Mews team to work with you and help me decide if you would be a good fit.
Last, if we all agree that you would be a valued member of the team, we will get together to sign all legal forms, model releases, disclosure agreements as well as the code of conduct.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ALL APHRODITES MEWS MEMBERS
⦁ NO ILLEGAL DRUG USE! We are booze, Cigarette, and 420 friendly. Please bring own will not provide.
⦁ What you do on your own time is your business however, I don't want to see or hear about you doing illegal activity on our time and will be ground for IMMEDIATE termination of contract.
⦁ No sexually explicit content can be associated with Aphrodite's Mews.
⦁ All models need to be 18+ unless special circumstances have been arranged.
⦁ Models are responsible for the care and condition of any and all wardrobe and props. If damaged you are responsible for replacing, cleaning, or fixing the garment or prop.
⦁ NO SEX IN THE CHAMPAGNE ROOM!
⦁ Again what you do on your time is your business but there is ZERO TOLERANCE for sexual conduct on the groups time or our locations.
⦁ BULLYING is not tolerated in ANY form for ANY member. Grounds for termination of contract.
⦁ Sexual harassment, although we are grown adults and can make some nasty jokes, that is not an open door for legitimate sexual harassment. Contract termination and possible grounds for legal action may be taken. Here to have fun and not watch our P's & Q's but be respectful of others boundaries.
⦁ Body positivity is important, lets focus on building people up instead of tearing them down.
⦁ Respecting our environment. ALL The Mews members leave no trace. This includes changing rooms, shooting locations, and makeup tables. A $50 fine will be issued to those who've violated that rule.
⦁ All Mews members are expected to at least attempt to learn all aspects of the business. Yes makeup artist, your modeling sometimes!
⦁ All models are responsible for providing their own model-go-bag. Which includes, Smooth well fitting nude unders and bra, Mini shaving kit for those of you who shave, non fabric staining pit stick ( no one likes a smelly model). Recommended makeup remover wipes, after many hours of wearing 40lbs of makeup it's nice to take it off! Change of clothes as well as functional shoes!
⦁ All Mews Members are responsible for bringing food, snacks, and beverages. It's important to stay well hydrated during a shoot. Some shoots can take literally all day, prepare to be prepared!
⦁ No call no show without legitimate reason will be grounds for immediate contract terminations. Flakes are not welcome here! 30 or more minutes is considered tardy, 3 or more tardiest will consider you for termination of contract. Traffic is a bitch and we understand, please try to keep in contact and we'll try to work with you.
⦁ Although we want you to feel safe and comfy, during the shoots we ask if your significant other is going to be bored, impatient, or interfering in the shoot please leave them at home. Bring a friend instead. That goes for any and all guest you bring. Minors are NOT permitted to attend shoot. You are 100% responsible for the guest you bring as well as damages caused.
⦁ We know cell phones need to be on incase of emergency, but please be respectful about cell phone usage. Cell phone pictures of the shoot or model(s) while shooting are not permitted. Selfies are okay out of shoot range
⦁ No drinking and driving, don't be an idiot, get a cab, call a friend, or carpool.
⦁ Responsible for finding way to and from shoots, to pitch in for gas is recommended if carpooling.
⦁ Please listens to Aphrodite's Mews Staff are here to help you and have the best shoot you can. Be an active member, your option does count!
